I'd take it a step further and say even genuine visits and page views are a poor indicator of likely success. Over the years I've bought ads with (genuinely) high traffic sites and got nothing from it, and conversely I've bought ads with small, low traffic sites and have done very well in terms of both sales and conversions. As a client all I want are clicks through to my site, and experience tells me that size is no indicator of success.
